BUSINESS CONTROL GOAL
Trans Pro Systems was born out of a frustration with closed proprietary auto parts software. The quest to control the business of Triangle Auto Supply in Yakima, WA began in 1986 with extraction of data from a proprietary (DEC) system to Lotus 123 on a PC.

Dial-up ordering was implemented long before the proprietary system would support this capability and full backup of the DEC system database on the PC was achieved using Ashton Tate dBase files.

RELIABLE PC DATABASE
Conversion of the entire DEC system to a PC based system was achieved in 1990 using "Partitioned" dBase files for reliability and fast selective data recovery. Programs were written in assembly language and utilized a light weight time sharing technology to support up to 4 dumb terminals using an early version of the IBM PC-AT DOS computer.

MICROSOFT WINDOWS AND FOXPRO

By 1996 Microsoft's Windows 95/98 and Foxpro Windows 2.5 Version provided a viable base for conversion of the entire system to a Windows Networked system with PC's as auto parts POS workstations.

Enterprise class reliability in an Auto Parts POS system is now available using a Window XP Systems as well as Windows 98..
